ACO: Governance Board & Policies

  • Purpose and Members

Vermont Collaborative Physicians, LLC., (VCP) is a company wholly owned by HealthFirst and is the legal entity for our Accountable Care Organization (ACO).  HealthFirst created the entity to give its independent physician members the option to participate in ACO programs. From 2013-2016, some HealthFirst physicians participated in the Medicare and BCBSVT Commerical Shared Savings Programs through VCP.

The goals of ACOs are to improve the patient experience, maintain high standards of care, and reduce unnecessary expenditures. The Governance Board provides overall direction with input from the Consumer Advisory Board, the Quality Improvement Committee and the Clinical Implementation Committee.
